Overview
The Advertising Agencies Association of Bangladesh (AAAB) successfully concluded Sharpener 2026 — National Creative Competition, one of the country’s most prestigious platforms for identifying and nurturing young advertising talent. The competition brought together emerging professionals from agencies across Bangladesh to showcase their creative thinking, strategic insight, and problem-solving abilities under intense competitive conditions.
Designed as a rigorous test of both creativity and strategy, Sharpener continues to serve as AAAB’s flagship talent development initiative for the next generation of advertising leaders.
Participation & Competition Format
The 2026 edition of Sharpener saw the participation of 11 teams from leading advertising agencies across the country. Competing teams were challenged to respond to a real-world brand brief, requiring them to demonstrate:
- Strong human insight
- A clear and original creative idea
- Strategic thinking aligned with business objectives
- The ability to present and defend ideas under pressure
Following a competitive round of presentations, Team Eraser from Grey Dhaka emerged as the winner for their compelling blend of creativity and strategic clarity. The winning team members were Syeda Jannat Ahmed and Md. Shajidul Karim Dipu.
Jury Panel
Sharpener 2026 was evaluated by a distinguished jury panel comprising senior industry leaders from some of Bangladesh’s most respected agencies:
- Mohammed Akrum Hossain, Chief Creative Officer, Pop5
- Rashika Osman, Senior Vice President & Head of Planning, Adcomm
- Nurur Rahman, Executive Creative Director, Grey Dhaka
The competition was moderated by Hasib Hasan Chowdhury, ensuring a structured and engaging evaluation process throughout the event.
Pathway to ADFEST 2026
The winners of Sharpener 2026 will represent Bangladesh as Team Dhaka at the ADFEST 2026 Young Lotus Workshop, scheduled to take place from March 17–19, 2026, at the Royal Cliff Hotels Group in Pattaya, Thailand.
As part of this opportunity, the winning team will also attend ADFEST 2026 (March 19–21, 2026), joining young creatives from across the Asia-Pacific and Middle East regions in one of the industry’s most respected international platforms.

Closing & Follow-up
Sharpener 2026 concluded with recognition of the winning team and participating agencies. At the closing ceremony, Syed Ahsanul Apon presented crests to the jury members in appreciation of their contribution. AAAB reaffirmed its commitment to continuing the competition as a platform for identifying and nurturing emerging creative talent.
